Directions for the Comparative Essay

— 800-900 words, place word count under date

— Introduction should include:

a. anecdote

b. background about the topic generally

c. the two stakeholders and what’s their part to play

d. a central argument

— first body paragraph

a. make sure you use quote or paraphrasing from the stakeholder as well as information from at least one other source that supports the stakeholder’s claim. Get these sources from Google Scholar or HCC library.

— second body paragraph does the same as the first, which should include about 12 or more sentences. These are long paragraphs.

— Conclusion is not a conclusion in the traditional sense, but a synthesis of what the two stakeholders have in common, how they are different, and the problem with resolving the issue, with emphasis on the last part.
