My essay Building activity:

Abortion Should Be Abolished In the United States

Due to the adverse effects of abortion, my stand is that abortion needs to be made illegal in the United States. This is because it involves terminating the life of an innocent being. Besides, it affects both the life of the mother and the child. However, if a mother retains the pregnancy until birth, there would be no effects on any of the individuals involved. Several articles have discussed the issue of abortion, where most of the authors do not support the legalization of abortion in the United States. Three articles have been to illustrate how abortion is harmful and needs to be banned in the US regardless of the cost it would incur.

The first article discussed is entitled “Abortion in America 45 Years Later,” which has been written by Candace baker. According to the author of the article, abortion is not supposed to be practiced in the US since the number of individuals who opposed it is more than the ones who are supporting it (Baker, 2018). For the author to reach the conclusion that abortion should be abolished in the nation, she has used various statements made by the pro-life movement supporters. In this case, the pro-life movement supporters demand that abortion should not be practiced in the US. Some of the statements used by the supporters of the movement include “We Do Not Need Planned Parenthood” and “Choose Adoption.”

The second article discussing the issue of abortion in the United States is “History of Legalization of Abortion in the United States of America in Political and Religious Context and Its Media Presentation” (Čížková, 2018). Klara Cizkova, the author of the article, has discussed the argument presented by both the pro-life and pro-choice movement supporters. Pro-life supporters claim that abortion should be made illegal while the prochoice demand that the practice should be legalized. Before concluding that abortion should not be allowed in the US, the author has discussed both sides and identified that the pro-life side is stronger than the pro-choice.

The third article regarding abortion is “A Pro-life Re-alignment: Proposing a Shift in Focus towards the Demand-Side Anti-Abortion Advocacy” (Fink, 2019). Dylan Partick, the author of the article, has significantly argued against legalizing the aspect of abortion, claiming that the majority need to be supported. According to the article, the author indicates that people who support the abolition of abortion are more than those supporting its legalization. Therefore, the nation needs to consider pro-life movement supporters. For the author to come to that conclusion, he has conducted a study to identify the stronger side of the issue or abortion.
