We’ve begun shifting to consider the major global shifts in power that have affected US foreign policy, such as the Cold War and the new era considered by Fukuyama as the “End of History”. These shifts have created some intentional and some not-so intentional trends in how the US engages with enemies and allies in the modern period. Given what we’ve discussed and read, answer the following:

2. What is one the most important UNINTENTIONAL consequences of the policy decisions during the Cold War and our transition after? Why?
